TEST PREP ESSAY PROMPT 2026-27

Technology and Human Connection

Social critic Sherry Turkle suggests that while we are more "connected" than ever through technology, we are actually becoming lonelier, stating we are "alone together." On the other hand, many tech advocates argue that digital platforms have democratized information and allowed for the formation of global communities that were previously impossible. Some sociologists also point out that technology simply mirrors existing human behaviors rather than creating new ones. Has the rise of digital technology improved or diminished the quality of human relationships?
